Poetry in the Streets!
Nexus Poets is proud to be a supporter of the North Carolina Poetry Society’s Poetry in Plain Sight project.
Poetry in Plain Sight began in 2013 by the Winston-Salem Writers as a way to display poetry in “street-visible” locations in downtowns and arts districts throughout North Carolina. New Bern was added as a host city in 2018 because of our thriving downtown and arts community. Several Nexus Poets members have had poems selected for display via the Poetry in Plain Sight yearly contest, open to North Carolina poets.
Nexus Poets is especially appreciative of the local businesses that hang posters in their windows each and every month, showing their support for the arts and poetry in New Bern.
